Ballroom Dancing in Arlington

Arlington, Vt.Celebrate spring and learn to dance.  A new six-week series of Beginner/Intermediate Ballroom Dance will begin Wednesday, April 23.  Classes will be held from 7-8 p.m. in the Wes Carlson Studio for Dance and Theater at Arlington Memorial High School.  Each lesson is $8 per person or $15 per couple.  It is preferable to have a dance partner but not necessary.  Walk-ins are welcome to attend.  Free child care is available on-site if requested before class begins.

Dance Instructor Chelle Hallett outlines the class plans for the new session.  “We will begin with the basic Fox Trot which transitions directly into Swing, since the steps and rhythm are so similar.  We like to spend two weeks on Swing, because it has so much variety!  Other dances included in the series will be the Waltz, Tango and Salsa.”

A dancer since kindergarten, Hallet is trained in ballet, modern jazz, hip hop and ballroom dance.  She has studied the fine art of the Argentinian Tango and teaches ballroom dance to students in the Fisher Elementary After-School Program.

In addition to the new class, individuals can also schedule small group and family dance classes.

To register for Ballroom Dance Classes, contact Hallett at hallettc@bvsu.org or 375-6409.  To learn more about the Wes Carlson Studio, call 375-2589, extension 147.  The Arlington School District mission is to create a safe, caring, and respectful environment of academic excellence where students are uniquely challenged to reach their potential at the K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 levels.
