Arlington Athletes Receive Honors Named

 

Arlington, Vt.—Arlington Memorial High School (AMHS) athletes were honored with numerous awards during the school’s fall athletic banquet at the West Mountain Inn Barn.  Host of the event, Arlington Athletic Director Todd Ordway announced the following honors:

Boys’ Soccer All Marble Valley League Team:  Matt Belnap and Tom Ferruolo

Girls’ Soccer All Marble Valley League Team:  Maggie Belnap, Stephanie Hazlett and Meaghan Phelps

Boys’ Cross-Country All Marble Valley League Team:  Sean Hawley and DJ Parker

Girls’ Cross-Country All Marble Valley League Team:  Grace Fischer and Alexandra Zakrzewski

Boys’ Soccer Vermont All State Team:  Matt Belnap, Aaron Brown and Tom Ferruolo

Girls Soccer Vermont All State Team:  Maggie Belnap and Stephanie Hazlett

Boys’ Soccer Captains’ Honors:  Aaron Brown and Tom Ferruolo

Girls’ Soccer Captains’ Honors:  Stephanie Hazlett and Meaghan Phelps

            In addition, the Boys’ Soccer Team voted Tom Ferruolo as Most Valuable Player for the 2007 season, and each senior athlete was recognized and received an AMHS tote bag with his or her name imprinted on it. 

Ordway, who coached the cross-country teams, thanked many individuals and organizations for their ongoing support including Boys’ Soccer Coach Scott Sheldon and Girls Soccer Coach Chris Belnap.  “We are so fortunate to have such a strong base of support for our teams.  The banquet was made possible by a host of donations from businesses including Chauncey’s, Christo’s, Gourmet Deli, Heritage Deli, Lawyer and Baker, Sirloin Saloon, Sodexho at Southern Vermont College, Zoey’s Double Hex, and of course, the West Mountain Inn.  Natalie Macksey organized the banquet, and Jayne Lewicki took photos throughout the evening.  It was a great night to get the teams together to share memories and wrap up the season.”
