Community Service Holiday Bazaar in Arlington

Arlington, Vt.,--Short on holiday treats?  Purchase homemade goodies and celebrate the season at Arlington Memorial High School’s annual Community Service Holiday Bazaar, Thursday, December 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 105.  Proceeds from the bazaar will benefit several area non-profits.

Family and Consumer Science teacher and coordinator of the bazaar Lori Hoyt and her students are busy making a variety of food gifts for purchase including homemade granola, chocolate covered pretzels, whole wheat and bran pancake mix, sweet cinnamon rolls, Scandinavian almond cakes and braided fruit and nut breads.  In addition, members of the school’s community service organization are coordinating the eagerly anticipated silent auction of donated items.  Hoyt notes that the bazaar is a popular holiday tradition at the school.  “The bazaar brings students, faculty and staff together for a project that benefits others, and the silent auction is the highlight of the day, as everyone tries to out bid each other.”

For more information about the Holiday Bazaar or Arlington’s community service organization, contact Hoyt at 375.2589, extension 105.  To learn more about Arlington Memorial High School visit www.arlingtonmemorialhs.org.  The Arlington School District mission is to create a safe, caring and respectful environment of academic excellence where students are uniquely challenged to reach their potential at the K-5, 6-8 and 9-12 levels.
